temp controller wiring query

Post by ukeboy » Fri Jun 27, 2014 9:10 pm

Hi,

Hope you guys can help.
I have an old fridge and thought I'd try to hook it up to cheap a tempreture contoller I bought on ebay. As I'd like to try some AG lager ( Automatic-Digital-Temperature-Controller-Regulator-Thermostat-Switch-220V-) they are the fag-packe sizedl black/orange ones on amazon and ebay which go for about a tenner Only problem is the instructions are in chinglish. Found a couple of how to guides on you tube but they are a different version, mine has only 6 ports in the back, not 8 like the others.
Can anyne point me towards a Uk version guide?

Cheers,

Can you take a photo of it.

Did you get the one that controls both heating and cooling, as I am confused as well as to how that will work with only 6 ports.

with 6 conections it could be live in,neutral,cooling live out ,heating live out and 2 for the probe.
however with the unit you linked to it looks like it can either do cooling OR heating,not both,the temp probe to the ntc contacts,live and neutral on ther middle 2 contacts,link the live to the 5th terminal along and your heating or cooling device conects to the remaing terminal and the neutral

I will only be wiring it to a fridge so don't need the heating bit I presume. The instructions are terribe, quote ' The contol host machine cannot be installed where the place is dripping water, or the elderly, children could be touched' .....!??!

Im using one to do my fridge,, if useful can take a snap of the wiring its in an icecream box ;) so essy to get to.. get some leggo brick type connectors rated 10a+ ;)

i snipped into the power flex to the fridge cut the live and neutral wires and using leggo brick connectors joined back up the neutral and added the neutral feed from my 3 core flex to the controller..

i joined the live from the plug to the live to my controller, and i used the redundant earth wire in my flex to return the live feed back to the fridge via the controller relay.

setting the controller:

HC= Heating / Refridgeration H/C C /
CP= Slew range of temperature 1 /30 2 c
LA= Floor level temp control -40 c
HA= Up Limit Temp Control 120 c
PU Delay Start 0/10 2 minutes
CA= Temp correction -10/10 0 c

Code = Code instruction = Setting Range = Default data = unit
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(
