Hi,
a couple of months or so ago, i asked for help preparing a wherry,,,, after some advice, i put it in the first FV for about 3 weeks, then decanted to another FV before stirring in sugar and then eventually bottling, the result success !!!!!!!! I have had many many favourable reports and pats on the back.

I may well try to replicate for xmas..... unless someone has other suggestions ???!!!

Would I be banned from the board if I was to say I'm very unimpressed with the Wherry I've done?

I don't know if it's gone slightly wrong or if it's just not my kind of beer.

On the plus side it's making my Coopers APA taste a bit better

I can't imagine anyone will be offended by you not being too impressed with one of your own brews.

Like you, I am not a great fan of Wherry. It's not bad; as a first kit after a near 30 year layoff it was a revelation to me of just how far homebrew has improved but after my second kit, also a Wherry, I tried some other kits and I think they have all been as good and most considerably more to my taste that the Wherry was. As a minimum stock I always try to keep a Ditches stout, a Coopers IPA and a Brewferm Tarwebier in the cupboard but I've enjoyed many other kits and almost all of them have been cheaper pint for pint than Wherry and had less of that homebrew twang about them.

I guess all that proves is that we all have different tastes .
