That sounds promising, I agree theres a chance that its an O-ring - a couple of mine were like that when I first got them.

The dip-tube/internal-post O-rings are a standard size, don't need to be special cornelius ones. I'm not at home at the moment but I will be able to have a look at what size they are later, if no-one else helps before then. I think they were either BS804 or #109, but I can't recall which worked best

Cheers

For just now, grease everything. That usually help with leaks.

Would PTFE tape on the post threads make do as a workaround until you can get a replacement o-ring ?

No tried that. Question.. should there be a ring between top of dip tube and keg. Mine does not have that.

Sounds like the problem then :) Should be easy to source an o-ring which will fit the dip tube. The beer out pipe should also have one of the same size.

There was actually a ring but it was so thin. Dip tube was hammered in and ring rather squashed. Pfte tape over the dip and then the threads and charged. No bubbles. No noise of gas escaping. Will check tuesday.. should be able to pick ip an 8mm id ring here

My ball-lock type just have one O-ring inside each post (ignoring the poppet). It seals the flared dip tube to the top of the corny's threaded nipple, and also squidges out sideways to seal against the screw-on post. I've been able to look now and the size I've been using is BS109 (which a google suggests is 7.59mm inside diameter and 2.62mm cross-section).

If the originals have been on there for some time they tend to get squished out of their original shape, some of mine have also been a bit brittle.

Cheers
