Brew Fridge

Post by jimpy0 » Mon Dec 22, 2014 4:26 pm

Been offered a Bosch larder type fridge, so gonna DIY it ---- question is it has an antibacterial feature on it, will that kill beer/wine etc, its too good a price to leave -- FREE
Have ordered the other bits required so will be in stock, st-1000, 60w heater etc.

Lucky you. I just paid £56 for one which I thought was a bargain. I wouldn't worry about the antibacterial feature. It's probably just a filter or something. It definately won't kill your yeast.

antibacterial refers to the interior surfaces being treated, either by coating or an additive to the plastic, in order to impart anti-bacterial or anti-microbial surface

I doubt very much if it will upset your brewing

the brew will be pumping co2 out and then be sitting under a protective layer of it soon after pitching the yeast so any antibacterial treatment wont get to the beer.. chill ;)
