I've just received a shipment of taps from China, but somewhere along the line the package has been kicked half to death. There was a hole, and one of "these bits" has escaped. It's the retaining nut that holds the tail in place, but I have no idea if it has a proper name or where I might get one. I could just ask the seller to send me another, but it'll take weeks. I'd be much happier if I could just grab one on ebay or something.
Any ideas?
Cheers

aliexpress.com
They are a "tribute" to the Perlick 630. Several sellers have them, but
this is the one I used.
I wouldn't buy them just yet though, I haven't tested them.

Only it turns out the tails are the wrong bloody size, so it would be easier to replace them all with JG part PI451215FS - 3/8 push fit > 5/8 BSP female, which seems to be like hen's teeth.
I should have learnt my lesson with Chinese tat by now.

Ooooh... shiny one.

I think I'll just bodge it until then.

That will be great improvement on the Chinese chrome plated version

I have several of these and done exactly as you suggested and ended up using a
JG push fit fitting you refer to, for hooking up to the cornie. Far better and unlikely to fall off. If you prefer to use the hose tail fitting then PM with your address and I will get a couple off to you.

On mine they're 1/2" BSP - so I managed to use the nut from a 15mm compression fitting...Mine arrived with none...

They look just like Perlicks. All the other Chinese jobs I've seen haven't done. I shelled out the $s when I bought mine a few years ago.

Thanks for your kind offer, but as you've just provided me with a supplier for a JG fittings at a very good price, I think I'll go with those! Much less hassle than the hose tails. Muchos gracias.

Yep, they look exactly like Perlicks but don't operate like them. These are spring-loaded self closing taps, which I didn't realise when I bought them. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it yet, but I know that spring loaded taps have a reputation for sticking. I've only got the one tap hooked up so far courtesy of a slight bodge, but it seems to work well. I'll report back with a final verdict after a bit more use.
