Flaked Rice

I was thinking about adding flaked rice (500grms) to my brew this weekend just to try something different. I use 3kg Lower colour Marris Otter and 500grms Pilsner Malt. Anybody any thoughts on this. Also if I am late hoping at flame out how much hops can I use for a 25 ltr brew (Hallertauer Mittelfruh) ?

Feel free to add away - I do it regularly when I want a paler brew... but I use std pale malt. Since you are already using low colour malts I'm not sure you'd see that much difference. I tend to use it in conjunction with a healthy dose of maize but keep the IBU's to a max of about 25 with only a modest amount of late hops and no flame out or dry hops. It's surprising how much hop flavour you can get from a simple brew like this.
