I've ordered a can of Coopers Irish Stout.

Does anybody know if this kit is subject to the infamous "Coopers Spew", associated with the company's standard stout?

Thanks Orlando but the link comprises 121 pages relating to Ditch's take on Coopers (original) Stout. I've been through the first three pages and there's no mention of Coopers Irish Stout, which is a different kit.

I think Ditch's Stout should be a rite of passage for any brewer. You can skim through the pages of the thread to get the "flavour" of things.
It has been made with both the Coopers Stout and Irish Stout kits, and the general recipe is 1 can with 1kg dark DME and/or brown sugar. The combinations of this are endless. I think Ditch started off with 1kg dark DME and then started using DME in combination with sugar. When I made it I used 500g dark DME and 500g dark brown sugar.
Good luck with it.

Thanks Good Ed, but before I attempt to modify this kit (in which case I'd look in the "Customise Your Beer Kits" section rather than this one) I will brew it as intended by the manufacturers. Any necessary tweaking can be made on future kits.
My question remains - does Coopers Irish Stout produce the same "Coopers Spew", ie excessive fermentation, as the original Coopers Stout kit?

Yes most stouts are volcanic during fermentation, I presume that is what you are referring to.
