Always a good idea to keep a record of what you're doing, this is how I started out, while I am starting to use promash and understand it writing stuff down helps sort out your process and will help if you decide to go into full mash.prodigal2 wrote:chopperswookie wrote:talking about obsession, was in tescos with mrs chopper, friday night big shop, and found myself looking at all the back to school stationary (stay with me on this one) and ended up putting a 89p notebook, the sort with elastic to keep it from falling open, into the trolley thinking "this will make a good brew diary". i have a PC, t'internet, word, a myspace facebook website coming out my arm and i buy a notebook. the first page does depict the starting gravity of my geordie lager 2xcans etc, date of ferming and a space for final gravity and abv.
My first homebrew was a Geordie Bitter,
A notebook does not crash, and if you spill your beer on it, it only cost 89p to replace, they are the future![]()
And having the brew details to hand is a real boon

this reminds me of an story that i quite enjoy...
when the americans were looking to put a man into space they used a whole team of scientists to create an implument that would help them write in space, upside down, under water and never go dry - there was no expense spared in this task and thousands was spent.
The russians used a pencil.

Jaded with your old technology? Then why not spice up your life with a new mobile phone? They are available in a variety of exciting new colours this year, and now rarely call the emergency services at random periods - for your convenience.
All new stocks available now at low, low prices! So why not visit your local dealer and lock yourself into another 1 year contract.
Think of the hours upon hours of fun you could be having right now! Can you work out what that little blue icon does? You've seen it on Crimewatch, and know it should be *OFF*, but: "Bugger me if I can work out how to do that!"
For you advanced users, we've added a strange little orange icon. Once pressed it appears to then come on at random forever more making strange beeping noises to get your attention. Can YOU work out what it does? Can YOU work out how to switch it off again?
Local dealers are waiting for your call now!
(Small print: Insurance does not cover being thrown into a lake. Being jumped upon repeatedly. Cover medical expenses after collapsing into a heap pounding the floor screaming WHY WHY WHY!)
