Insitu / fixed the bendable one is remarkable self supporting and doesn't actually touch anywhere.

Good question though, my only comment would be these are very low density.

work it out, its the ratio of surface area to power, my 3kw lwd elements from mrlard are tubes circa 10mm(guess) in diameter and about 1.4m (guess) long doubled up and bent over.

so about 440cm2 for 3000w so about 7 w per cm2

im sat in the warm with no intention of measuring elements right now but can do soon
