Sorry for being thick, but is that the same as Dried Malt Extract (DME)?

I have need to resort to this as I can't find LME anywhere, at least not at sensible prices.

May be on the wrong thread but how much DME would you use to replace 1kg of LME?

And I'm curious about the aluminium brew pot thing, I may regret asking this though! :wall

Thanks for the heads up!(I think)

I have heard some discussion on another (american) forum about aluminum(sp) brew pots. Something about potential health issues I think. I have to say that to find a big metal pot here in Blighty that costs less than a first time buyer's mortgage is like finding a virgin in Burton. Damn near impossible. I am just glad to have a 38 pint pot to do with as I please.

Anyhoo, I still have a question. This is for fizzypop boy; Is it spray malt or beer enhancer in wilko's?

Sorry if the cat is now chasing pigeons around. :(

Immy's dad ,
the main header on the pack said beer enhancer but then listed below it it said it was spray malt,i'm no expert i'm new to this so cant comment wether thet are the same thing or not.

A number of the extract beer kits you buy are also made by Muntons. Certainly the Woodfordes range are made by Muntons.

I live quite close to them & tried to buy direct from them. But unfortunately they don't sell to the public.
