Evolution

I've been absent from the Other Brew section for a good few months now and I notice that the recipe for TC has mutated a bit.

How's everyone finding the addition of tea and grated apple?

Is it working out, improving TC etc?

Tempted to do a classic TC and a T&A TC made with the same juice and yeast for comparison.

Mine done that way is great, been in my little drinks fridge in the boiler room for 8 days now, and it's pretty clear, tastes great to! give it a go, only cost me £3.00, mine's finished at 8% ABV, make's me other half, giggle a lot though!!! :=P

I've made my first TC this way, still fermenting (albeit slowly now), I racked it off for the 2nd time yesterday and had a sneaky taste, certainly not as bad as I thought it would be! It even tasted of cider!

Now I have a spare 5 ltr water bottle, just itching to have another brew contained within its walls.

So, Curious Brew, whats the most... well, "curious" brew you've ever made? Preferably something that was actually drinkable of course...

Depends how you define drinkable.

My Atomic Lemon might have been a triumph if I hadn't left it so long as to get serious yeast-bite. My Curiously Fruity was pretty lethal. My Curiously Gwar was all right if you added lemonade and my Curiously Cherry was dry as Ghandi's flip-flop!

In fact I think there's at least one representative of each in the garage still, might have to dig them out later.

The search function should throw up the original thread on each of these if Jim hasn't done a cull since I was last here.
