Has anyone got a recipe/ instructions for a small batch, no more than 2 gallons, of an irish type stout using extract brewing? :D

As there wasn't a response, I've gone for the almost extract version of a Brupaks Pride of Yorkshire Stout. As it comes in 2 cans with a bag of hops and a packet of yeast, I'm going to halve the ingredients i.e. only use one of the two tins and then split the hops in muslin bags for their short brew.

Now I'm not doing anything daft here am I? Both tins contain the same hopped malt extract?

http://hopandgrain.com/stout.aspx

there are some good recipes here, if you use Graham Wheelers beer engine http://www.practicalbrewing.co.uk/calcu ... eerengine/ you could substitute the Pale malt grain in the recipe for Dry Malt Extract.

I've concocted 2 of my own stouts so far and I've had rave reviews from workmates etc I think its a good style of beer to make with extract as the dark roasted grains will mask any flavours that come from the Malt extract (though DME will make some damn fine beer in whatever style).

here's 2 of mine that I've done as extract brews, I'll definitely be doing these as all grain recipes too.

Both these stouts have an interesting complexity and are lovely and roasty with good drinkability :)
