Swiss Vodka

a mate of mine at work says hes seen a kit for about 20 pints of swiss vodka, the proof is 20% Ive never seen or heard of it. is anyone familiar with a swiss vodka kit, he says its about £7 and all you need is sugar.

anyone heard of it, possible link to purchase it.

You can buy turbo yeast that will ferment 20l of water and 8 bags of sugar to 20%abv.
The yeast gives a lot of 'off flavours' and leaves the 'spirit' a milky apperance, so you would also need to clear it with finnigs and filter it through a good activated carbon filter.

If I wanted to make a high % spirit, personally I would make a very strong Turbo Cider and use a good champagne yeast, then you can put it in the freezer and throw away the frozen water ;)

Thanks Geeezah I just remembered that I made some gin a 6/7 months ago using the freeze~throw technique,
it must be somewhere under the mess in my garage! It must be worth a test by now!

Anyone any ideas how your surpost to leave it maturing?
