Cinnamon Hops

Anyone know of a hop which gives a cinnamon flavour? A local micro (Prospect) has this note in a couple of brews. I was wondering what they use...hops or another additive.

I've used cinnamon in Xmas ales it works well

I wouldn't discount cinnamon John I know they use whole lemons in one beer clementines in thier Xmas brew and they have used poppy seeds in a special. Which beers did you get the taste in ? Hoping to pop up there when I get back off my jollies and will see if they have it on the bar

Trucker,

You could fill out this form here: Hop Selector and the guys at Charles Faram will suggect a hop or combo of hops to get to the flavours you are after.

If they come up with anything let us know.

Radical Brewing by Randy Mosher has a good breakdown of flacvours and additives. E.G. for maple flavour use... Fenugreek!

It was early on Friday night, Paul. You know what's coming next.............I don't remember as clearly as perhaps I should

I think it had Axe in the name....Pick Axe, Axe Head (or similar?) There was another a few months back which I have completely forgotten, but it was a stronger presence (not sure if I actually liked it)

It may not be cinnamon, but if not , it's something very similar and I can't think of a better description. It's not a spice type flavour like a Christmas brew.
