Cleaning cornies in the bath?
(not at the same time as me!)
I don't yet have a hot outside tap and I'm slowly wrecking the kitchen with floods, so I'm wondering about just cleaning cornies in the bath - with abundant bath mats to avoid scratches. Its a glass-fiber resin type of bath; does anyone know if its completely safe to use percarbonate-based cleaners in it?
Thanks
Kev

Great, many thanks!
Yeah, thats exactly why I'm asking too; I just re-did the bathroom and don't want to immediately destroy the new bath.. I guess i'm still likely to scratch it, though - I'll have to get an outside hot tap fitted..
Cheers

Re: Cleaning cornies in the bath?
ive run a hot water hose out the bathroom window screwing a hozelock plastic tap conector to the showerhose fitting in the wall over the bath , all drips went down the plug hole, and it wasnt noticed till i went up to turn it off
dont think it will work with an electric shower tho,

ist update for months n months..

Re: Cleaning cornies in the bath?
Heh heh, probably I shouldn't admit this, but I didn't get around to emptying them in time so my morning shower was technically acompanied by the shinys
I like the hot water hose idea Fil. It could be a bit awkward as my bathroom is upstairs and on the wrong side of the house, but if i had a tap or gun on the end of the hose it could work out.
I have to say that the bath worked 'much' better than the sink; no floods at all. But there are some black marks left from the corny's rubber ends so i'd guess if this were a regular thing it wouldn't be long before there were dings too.
Cheers

Some while a go before I plumbed the sink in, I did get hold of a "plasterers bath" would be ideal for corneys

Re: Cleaning cornies in the bath?
The bath has worked so well that I'd seriously considered getting a cheap used or shop-damaged bath (or adapting dog or plaster baths) for this, and for soaking bottles etc. But I don't think my brew-shed has enough space for a big one - I still think its worth considering something notably deeper/bigger than the domestic kitchen sinks though; I can barely fill my kitchen kettle without having to mop up spills.
I've been getting enthused by the various CIP/Keg type cleaners people have made for themselves too though - I've got a pond pump so shouldn't cost much and would pay for itself by saving on cleaner - but my to-do list is already a couple of decades long...
