Do you mean the thermal transfer paste / heat sink compound? If so then yes you can.

Just be careful what you do with it. Those that have built computers in the past know that thermal pastes are pretty nasty and can be quite harmful if ingested.

How the hell...? No, I don't even want to know. All I can say is that I've built a lot of computers in my time, yet I've always managed to avoid eating the thermal paste.
