2nd brew

Post by candygold1 » Thu Aug 23, 2012 10:31 am

ringwood 49r one of my fav beers in the pubs so thought id give it a go,
mash went well with just 1 degree lost in 90 mins :D fly sparge took around 45mins and 30 litres of wort was extracted, i intended to do a batch sparge but found my 24litre mash tun was no quite big enough.
boiled wort for 1.30 in with cooler 15mins from the end took a fair while to get down to yeast pitching temp. check gravity and 1050 so just .1 over which im pleased with. might have to be called a ringwood 50 instead :

Lovely beers out of Ringwood, used to enjoy a few of them with my dad. My favorite homebrew is a bit like that but 4.2%, flavour and aroma from Cascade. I use Thames Valley II from brewlabs for it.
