Canned Malts Vs Spraymalts

Post by GageHolding » Sun Oct 14, 2012 2:58 am

Hello All,

Planning on following a pumpkin beer recipe for Halloween, but in the recipe it states;
"1kg malt extract
750g sugar/pale DME"

now as most kits only contain the malt extract in 1.8kg tins would I was wondering if I could use 1kg of a medium Spraymalt? (in addition to the 750g)
as they all say use as a replacement for sugar whereas I'm trying to replace a liquid malt with a dried one?

sorry if this is such a basic question :P

Cheers,
Gage

you can replace liquid malt extract for dry. They are pretty much interchangeable. To replace 1.8kg of lme you will need 1.5kg dme or there abouts.
