Cheap Woodfordes kits

Post by Ben711200 » Sun Jan 20, 2013 9:00 pm

Just a heads up. I went into my local Dunelm Mill today to buy some scales to weigh my hops and happened across the remains of their homebrew section. Everything was marked down with hand written price tags so it's almost definitely end of line stuff.

They had Woodfordes Wherry, Sundew and Admiral's at £13.99. I nearly picked up one or two, but have committed myself to The Dark Side now ;)

So Taunton Dunelm Mill has definitely got a few in stock if you're local, and probably worth having a look in others as well. I've managed to find the Wherry on their website too, though not the others

When I click on this link it brings the other two kits up in a box on the right hand side of the page

Good tip off!

Just been in the Colchester store and picked up a Sundew, Admirals Reserve and some CO2 bulbs.

Both kits were £13.99 and the bulbs were £2.79.

Just kegged my first ever brew, and today stopped off in the Romford branch. Picked up 2 Wherry, One Admiral and One Sundew.

Looking forward to kicking off a wherry as soon as I can get some Safale S-04.

Is that the recommended yeast for Wherry or is there something better? Or should I just stick with the one in the packet?

TBH the yeast that comes with it is very good now.

I popped back to my local Dunelm this morning and picked up 2 Wherry kits ;-)

Thanks for the heads up on this! Just picked up the last Wherry in store ( I wanted two) and also got the sun dew!

There will be some brewing coming up! :D

I also agree with Monkeybrew! The yeast is good! My lat Wherry whizzed to 1010 in under two weeks! Sadly it got infected as I left it in the fv for too long!

Cheers
