failed PT100 - fix?

Post by Frothy » Sun Nov 16, 2014 11:10 pm

One of my PT100 probes has failed :(

Had her apart and there's no visible breakages in the wiring and the soldering on my XLR connector is intact.
Tried another Probe on my PID and this works fine -so sure it's the probe that's at fault.

There appears to be a resistor at the other end that is soldered accross the 2 wires
I've checked and the bare ends of the wires weren't fouling or shorting on anything.

Is it possible for the resistor to fail? Worth replacing?

The resistor is the pt100. If it's failed, (and they do) you're better throwing it away and getting another probe IMO.
Best wishes
