Temperature probe placement

If have temperature probes or thermowells permanently fitted to an HLT or mash tun, where do you fit them so they aren't in the way when cleaning?

position low as to be able to measure the temp with the minimum volume you expect to use for any purpose, sat above any liquid level its gonna be useless.

also remember to stir the liquor well before taking a reading to rely on if left to heat up for a while, Lots of anacdotal evidence of a hlt sat under control to hit a target temp and perhaps left a lil while at target where cooler water lays below the probe, and hotter above with spot on temps at the probe level.. its why some folk have pumps recirculating the hlt ..
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..

I've set mine to stick in about 1/4 of the HLT diameter, and not sitting directly over the element. Height was determined by just using the old taphole (its an F33L Burco urn) so I guess about 8cm ? off the bottom. Seems to work well enough
