"G" type spear removal help please!

Post by gobuchul » Thu Jul 09, 2015 10:24 am

I need some help with removing a "G type" keg spear.

Got a s/h Crusader keg that has a G type spear.

Looked online for removal instructions and think I got it half right!

I pushed down on the rubber O ring with some pliers and twisted the middle part, the spear dropped but didn't drop all the way and seems to be hung up half way.

Can anyone give any advice on what I can do from here?

Do you have a picture of the whole keg as that might have a few clues of date of manufacture which might give a few ideas of the "g" spear used + a side profile pic of where the spear enters the keg.

Not really of any help but i recently found out that crusader are actually based about 10 miles from me, They also sell kegs/casks in singles and there more reasonably priced than i thought they would be.
How easy are they to fill/dispense for a home brewer ?
