Australian yeast. It's settling out at the wrong end of the FV.

I had an infection in a starter once that looked like a jelly like substance under the surface. It just kept growing. Hard to tell from the pic, but reminds me of that. I'm guessing you'd have said if anything seemed off.
PS and I once had a load of sanitiser sucked in from the blow off while chilling, which looked similar... but again, you'd probably realise if that was it!

Sanitiser could be it as it is looking low but I have no idea how it would have got in. It was like it before I crashed it down to 3 deg.
Maybe it’s a dump job.
Shame it was an Elvis Juice clone.

Ok, it’s off down the sink. Gutted, that’s some cash invested in that small batch.

Did you taste it? It just looks like yeast to me, us-05 is a top cropper that stays on top of the beer even after fermentation.

No it’s still in the FV, I’ll look at it soon. I’ve used 05 lots and never seen this. And it’s been sat at 3 deg for a week so should have dropped by now right?

Not debating it’s odd, but I use us-05 twice a week and tend to find it can misbehave, it’s got a fairly widely reported inconsistency too, probably more to do with importing than anything else. But I would call it a sign of flocculation/sedimentation and definitely wouldn’t dump it on visual. Have you used any finings?

No finings, never used them.
I’ll try it next week Rob.
Thanks for the advice.

Sorry to hear about your sad loss, It's not nice having to decide when you have to turn off it's life support system and pour it's liquid down a grate. RIP Elvis.....
