Nitrile "O" Rings ??

Anyone used Nitrile Rubber O Rings 1/2" instead of Silicone ones, I Googled and found they are foodsafe. ??? :-k

Think theres a few different food safe o rings, but Silicone can handle high temps

Nitrile o rings are the standard for corny kegs. I think silicon is better if using at hot temps.

Just had a look and it looks like General Service Nitrile is good for 121'c and there is also a Low Temperature one thats good for 107'c.... Handy Info Chart -->> http://www.websealinc.com/oring_temperatures.html

True but at higher temps you might leech things out of nitrile rings that you don't want.
I don't know this for sure but there must a reason why everyone uses silicon for hot temps.

Totally agree with Silicone is better, I was just looking for a cheaper alternative for 1/2" Silicone O Rings, (20mm ID) as some people want as much as £2-3 for them which I think is OTT. I have seen a few around £1.50 but then the postage is bumped up. :cry:
