YOUNGS KIT

Post by robbo79 » Mon Dec 29, 2008 5:31 pm

Hi all,
Can someone help, ive put the ingredients in the brewing bin and it says cover? does this mean seal the lid on or just rest it over the bin?

Seal the lid first then just crack it open slightly to allow it to breathe. It's best to avoid lifting the lid to have a peek as much as possible, not so bad in the first few days but after that you really need to resist the urge.

Not really, just leave it 7-10 days (the extra time doesn't hurt at all and actually helps ensure you get a clearer brew) before you bottle or keg it.

when i get to the botteling stage, i read i can add the sugar to my fementation bucket rather than the bottles, then siphon off into the bottles without adding sugar to each bottle individually is this correct?

Do i add the sugar and stir mixture of will this upset the sludge at the bottom of the bucket?

All i do is add the sugar to a jug pour in a bit of water to disolve, give it a quick blast in the microwave to kill any nasties. Let it cool then pour into the FV. Leave it for about 30 mins to an hour just for it to settle then bottle. Ive never had a flat bottle yet.
