I've got a couple of brews in kegs, nicely carbonated and ready for a few weeks cool conditioning.
However the place where I normally would do this (garage) has not seen a positive temperature for a week now!
If beer freezes during conditioning, does anyone know whether taste will be affected?
Thanks in advance
Freezing beer, not on purpose though!
Re: Freezing beer, not on purpose though!
Good point Chris.
It won't hurt if I leave 'em in the warm for another week then. Might have to draw off a couple of bottles for the fridge, all in the name of sampling then!

thats interesting,
whenever ive put a few cans in the freezer to try and chill them quickly and forgotten about one...
then let it defrost and opened it the next day, it tastes watery. ive always wondered why?

Didnt some "ice beer" manufacturers used to freeze lagers and then fish out the ice to make the beer stronger ?

I heard it was the Canadians who'd been doing this for years - leaving a warm beer out on the window ledge where it would freeze, seperating the water/alcohol. Someone from Labatts marketed this idea I think.
