Just took my first hydrometre test on my brew buddy bitter with a 1KG beer enhancer kit and 250g of sugar and it read 1.010. The leaflet that came with it says 1.006-1.000 i'm guessing i should just wait and keep testing until i get the same readings?
Anyway as i HAD to take out a 100ml sample to test it i HAD to drink it. I was very plesantly surprised i must say. Can't wait to taste it after it has conditioned for a few weeks.
Thank you.
Pleased as punch (well beer)
Re: Pleased as punch (well beer)
Try another sample in a day or two and if it remains firmly at 1.010 then you can consider it fermented and can either leave it to clear a little longer or bottle / keg it. Don't rely on the kit instructions too much, most kits tend to end at around 1.010 despite what the instructions say and if anything it's preferable as the lower the final gravity is the 'thinner' the beer will be.
