Lagering in the loft

Anyone used their loft for lagering?
I have a czech pils. After 2 weeks in primary, I transferred to demijohns with airlocks. There isn't much "bubble" activity, so I have transferred these demijohns up to the loft -- which is nice and cool, but protected from frost.
Madness or inspired? Anyone else done this?

I use my loft for conditioning my lager too as at the moment it's freezing. In the summer it gets hotter than the bowels of hell, but until then, it's perfect.
