Cornelius Kegs

Post by Ranting Lad » Fri May 08, 2009 10:18 pm

Currently I either put my beer into bottles or into a King Keg. I am thinking of updating to Corny kegs. What equipment will I need apart from the kegs? What sort of money should I expect to pay? Where is the best place to buy from? Thanks in advance.

Just moved to a shiny new corny, and love it already - best move I have ever made for brewing. I got the corny from Norm, and suspect I'll be back for more... possibly the bargain seconds.

Got a reg from a local welding supplies shop for £30 and it had psi and not flow on the output gauge ( something you have to watch for when getting them from welding suppliers).

New Dalex tap with separate flow control and some more pipe from fleabay for around £15

CO2 cylinder picked up from Andover Patio Centre for £16 - which I can get refilled locally but was worth the trip to get a cylinder to start ( the refill is bizarrely slightly more expensive than a full cylinder... :? )

Can be done much cheaper I am sure, but I am impatient so once I started wanted it all quickly as the first beer was in primary before anything was ordered :D
