1st AG Brew receipe?

Post by DC » Sun May 17, 2009 8:50 pm

Hi all, I am hoping to make my 1st AG brew next week and was wondering if anyone has made any of the beers below from (Barley Bottom) I was thinking of doing the Wooly Jumper and nearly ordered the kit then noticed they have added the Gob Hoblin kit to the website ! Now I am torn between the two (I know some of you might just say try both). I would like to hear from people who have made either of these beers and what they thought of them?

Haven't done either. At first I would have said the Hobgolbin clone..... But i think the wooly jumper will be more malty tasty with a similar hop strength. So I would say wooly jumper. Then the Gob Hoblin!

I have the Woolley Jumper kit conditioning in my Rotokeg barrel.

All I can say is go and buy the kt. It is so easy for your first all grain, it was my first ever.

What can I say about the taste of it......amazing springs to mind and it had only had just over a week in the barrel. I can't resist taking a small glass off every few days to taste it. It is already better than any of the kit beers I have been making over the last couple of years. =D> =D> =D>

I am sure that it will just continue to improve as time goes on.

Give it a go, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed, besides the service off Paul at Barleybottom is second to none :D

Cheers
Andrew

It is your Beer, make what you want.
I this year joined the AG crew and started with a direction of, learn my hops so started wth as 5kg base malt either MO or larger malt and kept to the same receipe and changed the hops do get an idea of what "I" liked, I am now on changing my yeasts.

Don't follow the crowd, if you get water,Malt, hops and yeast you can make beer and if your lucky a great beer but always your beer.

I can second that, I've only just had my first experience with him, but what a fantastic service!! My first order will certainly not be my last, he'll have my business from now on (alongside my local brewery who will supply my hops)
