Recipe help please?

Post by Deebee » Fri May 29, 2009 7:59 am

Hi all.

Most if not all of you have been brewing for a while.

Me i have just got my first 5 gallon batch of pale ale out of the secondary and it is not sitting, waiting for me to sample it ( when i pluck up the courage, cos not everything went to plan exactly........)

Anyways, i have access to some hops that i thought sounded interestion and wondered of you might be able to give me an idea as to what is a breable idea here.

I'd like something with a bit of a kick, mid range in colour ( maybe just darker then pale but not a really dark bitter)

Anyways the hops are LIBERTY and Willemette.

This will of course be an Ag brew of 25 liters so if you could help me i would be most appreciative.

Thanks
Dave

Have you had a look at Norm's real ale almanac recipes? I'm sure that you will find a brew which suits your needs in there.

yes, i ran a search in the forum and found nothing with eiher just one of both of these two hops.

right now i am leaning towards the tanglefoot cone for my next attemp and the thops are arriving tomorrow. brew day likely round mid june.

I was thinking that seeing as i can get hold of these other hops ( some are impossible to get in Norway) that i might be able to suggest some recipes for the others in the group that have let me join them.
i think that it would be a nice thing to do, you know, get the hops and then give them an idea s to what we could make.
