Thinking about giving this a bash. Only problem is, I have no idea where to start looking for elderflowers in Brighton. Has anyone ever used dried elderflowers to make champagne?
Cheers

I made up a batch of this (with fresh elderflowers) and it's fantastic. I don't know how it would be with dried, but I would say it's worth going out and picking some fresh. I'm sure I saw some in one of the parks last time I was in Brighton, failing that get out into the nearby countryside and you'll be tripping over the stuff in every hedgerow!

You're right. I need to go on the hunt for some. Fresh can only be better for definite.

Just go for a walk in the country. They should be everywhere about now. When I was out today it was impossible to look in any particular direction and not see an elder bush somewhere.floydmeddler wrote:Thinking about giving this a bash. Dont take too many from one bush though and remember to leave some for the wild beasties to eat!

...and some to turn into berries for another round of brewing (and cooking, actually) at the end of the summer. A miraculous plant, the elder.jonewer wrote:Dont take too many from one bush though and remember to leave some for the wild beasties to eat!
