Greetings & Salutations...
I saw a thread a while back where Chopperswookie mentioned a pear drop brew. We've just had a new sweet shop opened near me, sells all the old fashioned favourites from way back... Its made me wanna brew some roobard & custard wine!! I guess this would be the same sorta thing... Anyone know how easy it is to "melt" boiled sweets? (How did it turn out Choppers?)
Gracias!!
Boiled sweets
Re: Boiled sweets
In boiling water - easy - very like dissolving belgian candi sugar for those trappist brews.
Re: Boiled sweets
Cheers, will have to get down to ye olde sweet shoppe at the weekend and get this one going. Plus I can see what other confectionary delights could be turned into sickeningly alcoholic brews. I'll be like a kid in a sweet shop...

Holy cr4p
is there anything we won't try and ferment?

I've often fermented baked beans on an in vivo basis

Reminds me of when a housemate at Uni bought a deep fat fryer. First it was chips, then onion bhajis, then deep fried bread, then battered mars bars, then battered biscuits
