Should I use THe Beer enhancer
Should I use THe Beer enhancer
My nearest and dearest ordered me a King Keg ,woodfordes werry kit and beer enhancer for Fathers day,After reading about the werry's kit I noticed that no sugar is required ,would it be OK to use the enhacer or would it be better left out ?
Re: Should I use THe Beer enhancer
Don't use the enhancer with the Wherry. It doesn't need it. Save the enhancer and use it with a cheaper one can kit in place of the recommended sugar.
I would also recommend that you don't brew in the KK. Buy a separate 5 gallon bucket and lid which you can buy for about £8 and then transfer to the KK. You'll get far better results this way. Best of luck with the Wherry. It's a nice drink.

Also do LOADS of homework/searching on this site, learn about stuck fermentation, how to tackle this, sanitisation, priming, stuff like that.

Thanks to Lillywhite for the advise .Should have said I did already have all the equipment and a old boots P/B which s fine (got my Coopers old ale in it). the nearest and dearest just thought she'd get me a nice new one pluss beer kit for Fathers day. (Just wondering what it's going to cost me).
Re: Should I use THe Beer enhancer
I'd use enhancer on another brew (if you have bought it). If you were planning on buying it, don't - get spraymalt insted.
Re: Should I use THe Beer enhancer
Right I've had a good read on stuck ferments and have one question .Would it be better to replace the yeast suppied with the wherry's and use safale 04and if so should a nutrient or beer emzyne be used also ?
Re: Should I use THe Beer enhancer
I always use the supplied yeast provided with the Muntons kits and I havn't experienced a stuck fermentation.THE TACKER wrote:Would it be better to replace the yeast supplied with the wherry's and use safale 04and if so should a nutrient or beer emzyne be used also ?
I always re-hydrate the yeast in a third of a cup of cooled boiled water and then add a teaspoon full of yeast nutrient to the wort and keep the temperature between 21-23C.
Re: Should I use THe Beer enhancer
I've always swapped the yeast for Safale on the Wherrys, as it's considered better, also there is a long post, where someone from Muntons, admitted to there being a problem found with the yeast, not on all kits though, lots of people have no problems, I just prefer to play it safe, as Safale is so reliable, and I believe, if you bottle, it makes a more compact sediment, to make serving easier.
