Brewing this little bueaty as i type,,, got no Styrian Goldings left, will East Kent Goldings do ,,, recipe needs 22 grm of SG last 10 mins

In my view Styrians are essential to Deuchars, but it'll still be good beer if you use something else.

Yep, Styrians are the key I believe.. Although I've just done the same recipe with Bobeks which are Styrian Bobeks.. .Not goldings... Good luck

I don't think Styrians are the key, they are in something like Bitter & Twisted but Deuchars has a more nuanced hop flavour/aroma, I think theres about 3 or 4 hops used. Deuchars has a real earthy aroma which you don't get from Styrians alone.

Hey, you're brewing it right now, just use what you have - it won't be Deuchars but it will be a great beer if you take care of the rest.

It's no Deuchars; but It'll be a great adventure locating the exact ingredients...
