Clearing up my swamp water

My first brew has been sitting in the FV for a week now and it's still murky as anything. Any ideas on how to clean it up? I've just bought a couple of cornies + co2, so I plan on kegging it soon. I think it's stopped fermenting, so I'm thinking about moving the FV somewhere cool, syphoning into the cornie and adding some gelatine (ala Jim's instructions). Is this likely to clear it up at all? I'm slightly reluctant to go out and buy some isinglass (1 hour round trip to the nearest HBS), but I'm willing to if it will save the brew!

Also, I don't plan on force carbonating the beer, I just want to add enough CO2 to stop it going off. What pressure should I be using?

What yeast? fine it with gelatin, rack to corny and hit with 20psi a few times and vent the co2 out. That will knock any air out of the keg.

Mutton's Gervin English Ale yeast (I've read this is Nottingham?). Actually, I just measured it and it's gone down to about 1012, two points from I think Wednesday, so it must still be doing a little bit. Target is 1011. It also seemed marginally clearer at the top, so maybe I just need to be patient and let it settle a bit #-o

In terms of most homebrewers, do you guys regularly achieve near crystal clear beers?

Stupid question: when you say hit it a few times with 20psi, do you mean add CO2 until 20psi, let it out of the valve and then do it again?

It sounds like it's still working slowly which it will do after a week in the fv, try and leave it somewhere cool for a further 4-7days and you will see an improvement in clarity, the Gervin/Nottingham yeast is very flocculent and given time will clear bright in the keg but to speed things up follow Jims instructions.

It doesn't have to be 20 psi exactly. You could do with just 10. Do it several times so you bleed any air that's inside the keg.
My beers are generally very clear. I would say they're close to crystal clear.
