New BB Yeast supplies poll

Post by Reaper » Fri Oct 30, 2009 10:35 am

As a lot of you know I sell some of my yeast in my own packs, S-04, US-05 and now the W34/70. I’m looking to extend the range a little more. This poll will give me some idea what strains of yeast you lads would like to see on the website, I will also be selling them in usual 12g packs and 500g if anyone is interested, cheers.
Regards Paul

PS The yeast are the dried yeasts.

It's hard to pick. You've already got the best of the lager yeasts IMO so for me it'd be one of the others. Depends on the types of beer you want to brew (and the Fermentis descriptions aren't always that helpful).

T-58 Belgian style beers. A bit too hoegaarden-y me but could do other Belgian beers at a push
WB-06 - I haven't used it but it's a wheatbeer yeast isn't it? You already have the Munich strain in stock. DO they overlap?
K-97 - I don't think this is a wheat yeast (although Fermentis do). I think it's pretty decent in German Alts though.
S-33 - Apparently the old EDME yeast. Not used it myself although Fermentis suggest it could be used for Dubbels etc.

I went for k-97 as you can get the other ale strains from other UK shops but you can't get k-97 in small packs in the UK AFAIK.

I think S-189 and t-58 would be good.

WB-06 and Danstar are reputedly fairly similar.

The belgian strains would be nice the S-33 and T-58. As would the wheat beer yeast.

You do a great job man, hopefully you will be able to get enough custom to get much bigger .

Slightly OT but any chance of stocking dark crystal malt - Fawcetts apparently do one.

Excellent. I don't need any dark crystal right now but the more stuff you stock the less imperative there is to shop elsewhere.

For anyone else reading this, dark crystal works really well in a bitter. 5% works for me.

When in the UK all my stuff comes from BB

Sadly it is rather expensive to ship from the UK to Norway. That being said Paul has come with a great deal on this all, so i just need another person to share the shipping and customs costs.
