Dry Hopping
Dry Hopping
Hust seen a post where the beer is to be dry hopped in Primary. At what point do you add the dry hops and how do you know how much?
Re: Dry Hopping
I add hops in the primary when the vigorous ferment is done. It depends on the type of yeast, but it's usually after about 4 or 5 days. I leave them in there for 10 days (ish) then rack into the keg. How many you add is down to you and the hop type. Handy tips here: http://byo.com/stories/article/indices/ ... techniques

Thanks for that. Thats very interesting. Im usually too impatient to leave in FV for longer than a week before bottling. May well try it at some point.
Re: Dry Hopping
I've done it the primary and the corny keg. With either method I use 56g of hops. If in the primary I chuck 'em in when the majority of the fermentation is over. For the corny, I add the hops to a sock loaded down with marbles. It sits on the bottom of the keg. No problems with either method.

Good article.
Whorst: How do you fish them out the corny if its reached its peak? I am guessing your answer is that its never reached a point where they have needed to come out. I am thinking 1lb fishing line through the corny opening?
