Hop Flavour Guide

Post by Chunk1234 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 11:12 am

Does anyone know of a resource online that shows hop type against typical flavour profile?

For example: Amarillo - Citrus, grapefruit, dry finish etc?

I've tried to find this online but none of the hop guides give typical tasting notes.

Cheers for links, ran out of Saaz mid way through a AG Lownbeau Larger, needed to get an idea of what type of hops would be more suited for a larger as secondary Hops.

If you are brewing 'Larger' try a bigger bucket ;)

Hops might be 'Hersbrucker' or some of the other Hallertauer region hops :)

Well spotted!

Had only 'Bitter Hops' in addition to the Hallertau so went for the only one, in the link, that I had that said 'Lager' in it's ussage description!

So a nice mix of Hallertau and Challanger with Lager Malt.

Lets see what happens!.

Cheers

This guy has taken the Hop Union book and some other sources and put it online and in an Excel file. Very handy:
