water quality

Post by bevvy_merchant » Fri Feb 12, 2010 3:49 am

hi everyone.

i'm new and this is my first post so be gentle.

the water quality is crap where i stay, basically its full of chlorine.

i was thinking of using campden tablets to get rid of the chlorine, is this ok?

also what would be a good pH for brewing beer?

is it ok to use phosphoric acid to lower the pH?

thanks

1/2 a crushed campden tablet in 23 litres of tap water will sort the chlorine out.
