Using 2 'single can' kits together

Is it a silly idea to double-up with a single can kit, for example - to use 2 Young's Harvest Bitter kits together, made up to 40 pints?

You could, but the downside to this is that you will also double the bitterness of the brew, as these are designed for making 5 gallons per can. You would be better off with a "proper" double can kit, such as Muntons, Brupaks, or Woodfords. These will make a well balanced, quality brew.

Or use a can of plain liquid malt extract or spray malt instead of sugar
