Youngs 7 day white wine kit
Youngs 7 day white wine kit
Hi everyone im new here and just have a few questions about the youngs 7 day white wine kit. Ive brewed these kits before but the issue ive had is that its too sweet. Is there any way i can make it dryer yes last time i used normal house caster sugar this time im gonna use brewing sugar but the kit says 900g of sugar if i put 800g in will that make it dryer or will that just make the yeast less active. I honestly dont understand how brewing works proper except that yeast needs to live and sugar gives life to this. So does anyone have suggestions please or is there a chemical to add anyone ???

If you want to make it drier, use Tate & Lyle sugar rather than brewing sugar. Tate & Lyle is 100% fermentable & brewing sugar is around the 80% fermentable region. Sorry, can't comment on caster sugar as I have not used it myself.

Re: Youngs 7 day white wine kit
I always use tate & lyle in Mrs H's rose wines. I made 2 identical rose kits, 1 with tate & lyle & one with brewing sugar, she preferred the one made with tate & lyle as it turned out drier.
