AG#6 and loving it

Post by gnutz2 » Mon Apr 11, 2011 10:35 pm

Just bottled and kegged my 6th AG brew and it tastes great, even un-carbonated.

Basically i cannot believe the flavours coming from the fermenter, i've never tasted flavours like it apart from some of the best two can kits, but even they take a very long time to condition.

The great thing about it is i learn so much every time i do a brew unlike when i used to brew from a can.

Now i think i have enough knowledge to complete a pretty decent brew from extract if i ever needed to save time somewhere.

Basically i've come across i massive phenomenon that whatever malt and hops i use in the brew it still comes out with a certain style and flavour and this is dictated by the yeast.

At the moment i'm loving WLS005, i find it gives off loads of complex malty flavours and i just love the beer, it really is the best i've ever brew'd.

Cheers Baz

I've done... uh (counts up in head) 5 BIAB now, and find I am anticipating the next brew more. I'm planning ahead as to what beers I want instead of just buying any kit and getting it into the FV and then the keg without caring too much about it.

For the record. BIAB6 = Red/Irish ale. BIAB7 = Something stouty.
Needs more Cowbell.
