Hooray for Hopman :D

Got me plants in the post this morning and have planted them in large pots - I have a patio rather than garden. Will erect (no sniggering) a trellis type contraption when needed.

I was quite proud of my potting skills and was going to take a photo until I realised my girlfriend has taken the digital camera on holiday to France with her :o

as I can see every body is now growing hops :lol:
I've got 25 hop-plants 2 weeks ago, there was columbus, perle and saaz :rolleyes:

i've made many brew with my own hop and got very result, i realy like the "perle" :rolleyes:

I'd love to grow Cascade also but can't find a UK source of plants.

i've used it in pellet it's a good variety but i've never found it here too :)

i've seen pics of your plants, they look very good.
mine has no leaves, but the old one is about 20cm for the columbus and 50cm for the magnum( hallertauer)

I'm crossing my fingers as my hop plants should be in the 'capable' hands of the postal service as we speak.

I know I'll be a little late getting them in the ground, but the garden is still a work in progress anyway. Hopefully be more organised for next year.

Noby, if you are getting your hops from beer essentials, you are probably in a better position than you think in terms of growing hops. You will get a plant, rather than a root, so that saves time, and I have been amazed how quickly they have been growing in a short space of time. You can see what growth has happened from day to day.

I'l take some pics later and post them. :)

Today i got give 2 Humulus hops is there any good info about looking after them on the net or books ? ;)
