No idea if that's spelled right but y'all know what it's supposed to be.... Anyways,I bottled a simple brew 2 weeks back and had a sneak preview last night - wish I hadn't as it's redolent of Granny Smith's. Nice apples for sure but they've no place in beer. What's caused this? I know it's a little young but still... I've done absolutely nothing out of the ordinary save for bottling a tad early (9 days in FV) due to time restraints. Though not my normal practise I've bottled in less time than that before and haven't had grief. Any thoughts, guys, and is it something that the passage of time might rectify?
Edit! Could some sort of infection cause this?
Acetaldehyde
Re: Acetaldehyde
I refer you to here. It should clean up in time....btw, took me less time to look it up than it did to type this out. Google is your friend!

Neat, thanks. But I'm still none the wiser as to what I've done different to any other brew... which makes me wonder how to avoid it next time.oz11 wrote:I refer you to here. It should clean up in time....btw, took me less time to look it up than it did to type this out. Google is your friend!

Hope your right mysterio - I'll report back in a coupla weeks. Meanwhile, I'll never bottle again before at least 2 weeks has been spent in the FV!
