Pissed as a f**king rat, every night of the week. Start around 17:00, latest. Slaughtered by midnight. Then I tend to speed up and stoically chuck as much more down as I can ~ before I wake up and toddle off to bed.

What it's all about, isn't it? Gonna f**king die soon enough anyway. Terrible thing to have ye last thought being about how ye'd might as well have royally pissed up this last umpteen years.

Not to "argue" a point on a beer forum, but insofar as i'm aware, when you distill water & alcohol (a wash for example), you can only reach a peak concentration of 95.63% ethanol and 4.37% water.

Under normal conditions. We were a fully equipped chemistry lab - even subjected the stuff we were making to full NMR (Nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy to ensure that the ethanol contained no methanol contamination whatsoever.

I have to be on the road by 7:30 each weekday so I have developed my own rule-of-thumb system for "school-night" drinking.

10 is my magic number ie. 2 pints of 5% or 3 of 3.something.

Week goes like this:
Monday: run the local pub quiz, drink local micro hoppy pale, 2 pints, by which time we're half way through the quiz, the heckling has started, so have a few more. SWMBO arrives after her clogging practice, so have a few more with her. (System fecked!)

Tuesday: on my own, have a couple of HBs, adjust halo and have an early night.

Wednesday: We both attend rehearsal of local choral society, finish at 10, quick to the pub, dry throats, so down 4 quickly (system fecked)

Thursday: Molly practice at a pub about half an hour from home, one pint there, then a quick drive home to the local, get as many in as possible before closing time (playing the squeeze box is thirsty work) (system fecked)

Friday: not a school night, no holds barred.

Saturday: try to spend the evening with SWMBO and her two teenage daughters. Avoid disapproving glares, beers at minimum.

Sunday: start early, finish early, still drink too much, early night then it all starts again.

But to answer your question, yes, but usually pre-loaded with local micro beauties coz they're usually a lot better than my own. (He's got a bigger hop budget than me)

Likewise, the activities that two teenage girls are ( might, or will in the future ) be up to will probably raise your blood pressure to a tyre pressure

Give myself Monday and/or Tuesday off, Tues/Weds - thurs 2-4. Friday, Sat get smashed on eight to ten and Sun have around 5-6. Since I picked up a few good bottles of scotch on offer I have been having 2-3 drams on my drinking nights. Too much I know but getting through work has been so damn tiring and stressful at the moment its the best way I find to unwind, reading a good book while drinking helps too.

As others have said the stuff I make now is right to my taste, it's fresh and natural and I couldn't get anything better in the pubs around here, also, as I'm poor as a church mouse 25 pence a pint is another factor I take into consideration.

Most nights it's a large glass with dinner (about 2/3rd of a pint) and then nothing until later on (I usually put an hours light exercise in around 8pm). Though I do a 40 mile ride or a few laps of Arthur's Seat on the bike on Tues/Thurs nights so I rarely drink on those nights. I never drink more than 4 pints on a school night, and usually keep it under 3. Most Saturdays are a school night for me as I'm usually out on the bike around 8am on Sunday mornings for a 3-4 hour ride. So Friday's pretty much the only night I can get drunk.

Years ago it would have been a different story.... but now beer has to share my life with cycling. I need to exercise to be able to drink , so I can't give up the cycling without giving up the beer. I enjoy cycling though, so it's not a problem.
Let's all go home, pull on our gimp suits and enjoy life

I want that quote on my tombstone!

As long as Ditch is about I'm alright..you legend Ditch!.....my mate said he'd stop drinking when Shane MacGowan died....counting on Shane's legendary intake to end soon enough, he's got a tougher liver than George Best!....not that I'm comparing Ditch to Shane/Besty mind you.

I'm trying to fill my evenings with fitness stuff....but then get so knackered i 'need' a few pints, leads to smokes, more pints, shouting at radio phone ins and then playing my guitar (really badly) or playing solo darts til I can't see the board. Then stumble to bed. Luckily I have a coffee shop. It Helps. I try to keep this down to 4 or 5 times a week hic!
All grain makes superb tasting beer, its hard to stop after only four. Mind you...I still have my ditch stout...the ONLY kit beer to be found in my house!

Bet theres many out there who just are'nt going to cough! C'mon, you know you do!
