Re: Limoncello
Is this what you're looking for?
Here's another recipe.
Or this one.
I think I'll try it myself, but I'll halve the recipe and therefore use only a single bottle of vodka. So 750 ml of vodka plus 1 cup syrup makes a litre.
Can anyone recommend a very high quality vodka with no taste of it's own?

No, not really. The very nature of commercially made vodkas will mean that there's invariably some residual taste in them. Here most vodkas are at 37.5% ABV, because of the link between the excise taxation and strength of liquor.Laripu wrote:-----%<-----

As you seem to be in Florida, whether the state allows for the sale of evaclear, I don't know or whether you'd have to get it "further afield".....
My sister lived in Madrid, and one of her staff, an Italian girl, was amazed that you couldn't just go into the chemist/pharmacy and buy it over the counter, but I understand that very high strength spirit is generally used with the family recipes in Italy, so that's what I'd suggest......if possible

There are two varieties of Everclear, 151 proof and 190 proof. The 151 is available in any liquor store; the one closest to me has it. I guess that's what I'll use. I'll probably then mix 750 ml of Everclear/lemon with 1 litre of sugar syrup. That will bring the abv down to 32.4%, which is my comfort zone, not to mention SWMBO.fatbloke wrote: As you seem to be in Florida, whether the state allows for the sale of evaclear, I don't know or whether you'd have to get it "further afield".....

It won't be for a while, because I think I have a business trip coming up. I may be away for a month.
Alcohol regulation here is a state responsibility, so some states don't allow it, but Florida does. At least one state doesn't yet allow homebrewing, but they're planning to.
