Know what you mean about the kits, nearly as boring as trying to encourage manufactures to supply decent yeast. All set up for extract brewing now as only have a 19l pot. Might try a mini BIAB.

My first couple were miniBIABs, well worth a go!
My first couple of batches were made in an 11 litre stock pot so ended up about 6 litres in total when I bottled. Tried maxi BIAB after that and got around 10 litres, which was enough to encourage me to get a Buffalo boiler :D
Was good to get some processes sorted and get used to what I was doing first.

I've got a 23l pot and BIAB 17.5l (quantity into FV) batches as standard. I've set BrewMate to have a default batch size of 17.5l so I don't even have to think about it.
