The thin seals and the larger ones that I had were forwarded to me from Spears Spares Ltd. Can't find a website for them though.

I agree with Clive though, unless they show signs of damage don't change them. A quick spray test with Starsan and you'll know if it's not sealed.
If Crusader are servicing kegs they probably change the seal as a matter of course.

Good company to deal with though =D>

I finished my first Sankey kegged beer tonight so it was the first cleaning and refilling test. My de-gas coupler and spear remover worked well. A rinse out and half hour soak with hot water and it was looking spotless. In went the Oxy and a good shake and rinse. A dose of Starsan, perge with CO2 and in went my racked beer :D

No poppets or small rubber seals to get in the way

It's surprising how wide the neck is. I've got a cheap LED torch and the neck is plenty big enough to shine the torch in and have a look to see how clean it is.

Happy days

Might just have to get me one of these 20 litre kegs. Shame they don't more choice in the smaller sizes though.

They seem well priced and build to last!

Looks like these just became a much less viable option.

Emailed to put an order in for a keg and they are now asking £25 delivery!

Absolutely gutted as I just ordered some bits to go with it and now not sure I can afford one or if its as good value

I think the £25 is their new standard delivery charge regardless of number (normally in person) dont know why they just dont use a couier for a tenner for single items. Would agree the £25 delivery for a single is alot less appealing / makes it an expensive item to buy.

Hello Dean,

I am sorry that you find the delivery charge expensive. We have had to add this [£25 delivery charge] as I am sure you can understand to delivery just one or two kegs is not an economical use of out transport and because of the weight they are expensive to send by courier. The only way I get round the delivery charge is for you to pick up from our warehouse in Sheffield.

I think I will have to arrange one of these el cheapo couriers to collect mine to keep this project alive.

Anyone know of a good cheap courier firm who collect?

Dean./

http://www.myhermes.co.uk are pretty cheap, especially if you can drop off at your local pickup point, which might be a newsagent near you.

I wont be able to drop off as it needs to be collection from Crusader unfortunately.

Need to wait on dimmensions and weight from then first though. Guessing 50x50x80 and 20kg for two kegs which is giving me quotes around £12.

Might have to just get one...

I'm gearing up to buying a few of these 30L kegs, but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the other types of spear/coupling besides the S type (like U, G and A types)? Crusader apparently keep all of them in stock. I have a few couplers for the other types (U, G and A), so it might be nice to get the kegs to match, but maybe the S-type is the best one for home-disassembly?
