Looking good :)

At least you didn't clad them in a cheap softwood, far too many breweries I`ve visited seem to have very ill fitting timber cladding on their pots

What does one of these cost?
Hair of the dog, bacon, butty.
Hops, cider pips & hello.

Hi Clive I was going to do this as a pricing exercise but when I realised what you home brewers innovate to save a penny I though whats the point.
I will do the exercise at some point but most of what I have used has been offcuts from previous jobs and I have never had a decent run at getting on with it, too much stopping and starting a month or so later and not logging time spent on fabing. It has not been that enjoyable either, I am more used to getting inside a vessel to polish out a weld instead of head and shoulders cramed into a cylinder. :|

Yep would agree homebrewers normally penny pinch at every oportunity, stick to you guns though on price there is always a market for quality - just dont use the words "best offer" on JBK if your easily offended - set a price & stick to it quality will sell. If a member thinks they can but something cheaper - let them go ahead and buy it elsewhere

A wee peek behind the protective film for the shiny happy people. Christina was watching a program about a small bald headed detective last night so nipped out made and fitted some capping discs for the cladding.

That was not the intention! This is the easy part for me the difficult bit has to come, I have not brewed beer before but looking forward to it now.

Dont do things by half do you... you have set the bar of DIY brewkit very high here, way beyond my reach anyway WELL DONE.

But far9410 isnt alone with brewkit envy and feelings of inadequacy :).. BUT dont stop posting the sexy pics tho and you have to document the inaugural brewday (warts n all).. that will be a good read..

ive just brewed with my shiny new big kit ( not on a par with yours..) which now leaves me with a larger capacity which is great but cuts down on the need for brewing :(, so Im now looking at perhaps knocking up a small trial brew kit, (following Belters lead again..) Now if you could knock up a diddy version for brewing 10l batches (smaller pots to work in less materials and a much LARGER market as u will catch newbies and old hands with big kit alike .... id sign up for a set :) go on make me a mini kit!!! Too desperate?? hell for brewkit of this quality who can afford pride :)

Trouble is with the smaller stuff the amount of labour doesnt decrease that much v capacity, I would imagine things might actually get more tricky the smaller things get.

As Barneey states it is more of a pain the smaller it gets slightly less welding and material at 500 dia getting your head and sholders in to weld is a squeez, welding around the thermo pocked was a ball ache it is far easier getting fully into a vessel to work. You cant compete against pressed s/s stock pots which is by far the cheapest option.
I am converting new 50ltr kegs into FV''s at the moment for someone I am finding that is trying my patience must be turning into a grumpy old git.

I had a hunch I would need this one day, it came up on fleabay at a good price a while ago so bought it just in case a 2 1/4 bsp tap (an expensive item to buy in a hurry £175 ex vat and delivery) but needed it today. when I welded the socket for the immersion heating element it must have contracted and shrunk with the welding easy fix with the correct tools.

managed to get three lids from offcuts as well fourth still to be made.
